West Nile Virus (WNV) has been found in two (2) horses in Pennsylvania. One horse was located in Lancaster County and the other in Montgomery County. Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) encourages horse owners to work with their veterinarians in order to protect their horses from West Nile Virus and other encephalitic diseases. Surveillance updates and alerts, including county locations of positive horses and other animals, are available at www.westnile.state.pa.us/.
